2005 Exposition

Cool, damp weather reduced the crowds a little at the 2005 Exposition, but there was lots to see and do in this, Alberta's Centennial year. I hope those of you who attended will send me your thoughts and your photos to add to this page; I was only able to spend a few hours at the show, so missed quite a bit.
If you find any errors in the captions, or would like to add something to the descriptions, please feel free
to contact me and I'll make the necessary changes.

This centennial flag rose and fell with the motion of the pump jack to which it was attached. The pump and the one and a half horse power McCormick Deering 'M' engine which drove it were restored by Bill Wilson.
This year Case was the featured make. Glen Sittler drives his "VA" Case and pulls a stationary Case unit and a Case eagle.
Case made a lot of different models through the years, small ones like this 1941 model "S", ...
... this Case 300, shown here in the parade ...
... and this 1948 model "VA" Case owned and restored by Henry Stallknecht of Edmonton.
There were a few large ones -- I think this is a 1200 Traction King made in the mid-1960s, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Some, such as this 1938 model "R" owned by Ken Wardlow of Moonlake, Alberta, were shown in original condition.
Others, this "R" for example, had been restored to 'as new' condition. Both circled the parade route to the delight of onlookers.
Here are a few more of the many Case tractors displayed.
