Museum exhibits and historic buildings
Alberta Heritage Exposition Park is located 5 km west of Leduc on Highway 39 and 1 km north on Cohne Dale Road (Range Road #260). It is owned and operated by Leduc West Antique Society.
In 1992, LWAS established the park on 80 acres of land. At that time, the setting was basically a huge, trackless swamp but that didn't stop society members from enjoying themselves at the first show, held in 1994.
The park has developed rapidly since then and continues to grow today, with the donation of more historic buildings, new replica buildings being built and all manner of antiques, artifacts and collectibles donated to the cause. LWAS hosts several public and private events at the park every year and makes the facilities available for tours and special functions. LWAS is working on being recognized as a museum by the federal government, which would allow the society to apply for grants and possibly remain open throughout the summer.
